He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ruthven and Katherine Ruthven; and his sister Jeanne Doehlman. He is survived by: his child James Shane; his wife Sylvia Ruthven; his children, James Ruthven (Pam) and John Shane Ruthven (Gina); his grandchildren, Monica, Scott, Rachel, Eric and Sarah; and his sister Julie C. Fioresi.
