He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Rice and Nancy Rice (Coleman); his son Leonard Leo Rice, Jr.; and his siblings, Alline Hines and William Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Violet E. Rice (Manley); his son David Leonard Rice (Karen); and his granddaughters, Dawn, Morgan and Lauren. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
