He was predeceased by : his father Everett Stoops; and his grandson Gavin. He is survived by : his mother Ollie Grooms Stoops; his wife Peggy Milburn Stoops; his children, Nicholas Stoops (Brenda) of Columbus, Georgia and Beth Knisley (Jason) of Sabina; his grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Addelyn, Evynne and Connor; and his sisters, Cindy Cunningham (Frank) of New Vienna and Becky Hall (Brian) of New Vienna.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated to the Jamestown Church of Christ.
