With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lela Irene Mays of Liberty Township, Ohio, born in Beattyville, Kentucky, who passed away on June 19, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her daughter Cathy Spradling; her siblings, Florene Crisp, Bobby, Bill and Tommy Baker; and her siblings' children, Michael Ballinger and Yvonne Irene Baker.

She is survived by: her husband Elijah Ray Mays; her sister Linda Ballinger (Glenn); and her children, Chet Mays (Jane), Tony Mays (Tina), Jeff Spradling and Sherry Mays.
