He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hauenstein and Lucille Hauenstein (Klingler); his brother Dennis Hauenstein; his grandson Clayton Pearson; and his brother-in-law Tim Michel.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Michel Hauenstein; his children, Matthew Hauenstein (Dawn) of Cridersville and Barb High (Matthew) of Ada; his grandchildren, Autumn, Summer, Spring Hauenstein, Trent, Riley, Pearson and Colton High; his siblings, Edgar Hauenstein (Janice) of Montpelier, Leland Hauenstein (Cherymae), Kenny Hauenstein (Vicki) of Columbus Grove and Jeannine Tate of Lima; and his siblings-in-law, John Michel (Deanna) of Columbus Grove and Charity Guinther of Bluffton.
