She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Hoover; and her brother Joseph "Joey" Sholler. She is survived by: her mother Susan K. Hoover (Sholler) of Lima; her husband Ronald Thomas "Tom" Burton; her daughter Krissa Burton of Lima; her close friend Krissa; her brothers, Justin Hoover (Jessica) of Lima and Ronald Hoover (Lisa) of Kileen, TX; her aunt Ruby "Auntie" Vermillion of Lima; and her cousin Compton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in order to purchase a bench in remembrance of Kandice at the Toledo Zoo.
