She was predeceased by: her husband Edward J. Elmquist; her parents, Howard Chapman Jr. and Ilo Helser; her son-in-law Steve Kesner; her brother Jim Chapman; her brother-in-law Norman Elmquist; and her nephew Durrell "Beaver" Blank.

She is survived by: her children, Mechell Broadwater (Craig) of Etna, OH, Melissa Elmquist of Lima, Melanie Bice (Doug) of Lima, Kirk Elmquist (Kretia) of Springfield, MO and Trenton Elmquist (Kate) of Powell, OH; her grandchildren, Keaton (Casandra), Wade, Beth, Samantha (Brian), Natalie (Zach), Audrey, Tyler (Natalie), Chloe, Cross, Evan and Libby; her great grandchildren, Hudson, Pierce, Dean and Sylvia Karen; her sisters, Susan Strayer of Ada and Nancy Mohler (Lynn) of Elida; and her sisters-in-law, Norene Parish of Lima and Mary Elmquist-Lane (Dick) of Lima. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
