She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Lawrence and Bernadine Coon Barlow; her spouse Richard E. Cheney; her children, Steven Alan Shields and Polly Shields Henry (Michael) of Indian Lake, Ohio; her stepdaughter Lynne C. Rose (Ronald) of Mansfield; her grandchildren, Dane Shields, Kathleen Shields Jameson, Summer Shields Schwarzer (Matt), Mark B. Shields, II (Emma), Jeffrey Henry and Jessica Shields Green (Jesse); her sibling's children, Beth Kautz and Bob Rettig; her son Mark Barlow Shields; and her sister Betty J. Rettig. She was also cherished by 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
