He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Eugene and Mary Gibson (Rowan); his son Darrell Gibson; his grandson Brian Gibson; his great grandchild Brian Ward; and his siblings, William Gibson, Robert Gibson, Irene Alspach and Richard Gibson.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Gibson, Mathew Gibson, Katherine Wynn, Guy Gibson (Margaret) and Darren Gibson; his grandchildren, Brad, Melissa, Diane, Guy, Rachel, Krissy, Brock, Danielle, Justin, Rylae and Dalton; his great grandchildren, Annissa, Audrey, Isabella, Braxton, Braylon and Blain; and his sister Candace Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
