He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Eleanor Emanuel; and his brother Bill Bittinger. He is survived by: his children, J. J. Bittinger (Amanda) of Mifflin, Mike Bittinger (Sara Kruty) of Mifflin, Mary Zalokar and Mansfield; and his grandchildren, Hunter, Hayley Marcum, Olivia Meador and Gavin Kruty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
