He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Burkhalter Sr. and Ella Christine Howell (Oney); and his brother Gary Burkhalter. He is survived by: his wife Twila Vassel; his children, Tim Burkhalter (Debbie) of Mansfield, Ohio, Wendy Sexton (Shawn) of Wooster, Ohio, Jeremy Burkhalter (Rebecca) of Shelby, Ohio, Melissa Coffman of Richland County and Austin Burkhalter of Mansfield, Ohio; his siblings, Pamela, Beth, Jeff, Jenny, Debby, Paula, Brian and Travis; and his stepfather Birbage "Bill" Howell Jr.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 2:00 PM at the Messiah's House (74 Pettit St, Shiloh, OH 44878). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah's House of Prayer in Shiloh.
