He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Giere and Veronica Giere (Brockman); his children, Larry, Steven and Sheryl Giere; his daughter-in-law Marge Giere; his grandson Samuel Wuebker; his siblings, Cordula (Alphonse Post), Loretta (William Schwartz), Julianna (Clem Gehert), Regina (Ward Brush), Otto Giere, Aloys (Verdella Giere) and Alvin Giere; and his parents-in-law, Ruth, Richard Dressman, Alvin, Dorothy Raterman, Ralph, Louise Raterman, Maria, Ivo Meinerding, Mary, Rog Wyen, George, Marie Raterman, Robert Berning and Edna Raterman.

He is survived by : his wife Jeanette Raterman; his children, Ed Jr. (Deb Giere), Joe Giere (Linda Schmitmeyer), Tom (Angie Giere), Gary (Connie Giere), Jennie (Steve Wuebker) and Maria Stein; his daughter-in-law Vicki Giere; and his sister-in-law Sharon Giere of Haines City, FL.. He is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 on the way & 2 great great grandchildren.
