He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shifflet and Fairy Shifflet (Atha); and his sister Jeanne Oliver (Shifflet). He is survived by: his wife Linda (Dahlen); his son James W. Shifflet (Jimmy) of Marion; his sister Sharon Shifflet (Stan Fees) of Delaware; his sibling's children, Christopher Thomas (Charlotte) of Columbus, Robynn Spicer (Matt Moore) of Richwood, Matthew Oliver (Katie) of Grove City and Adam Oliver (Nickie) of Prospect; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin Spicer (Katie Wagner) of Stockport, OH, Aubree Spicer of Richwood, Skylar, Devin, Derek Seitz of Columbus, Zoey, Evelyn Oliver of Grove City, Ruby Oliver of Prospect, Mason and Emma Dunn of Grove City; and his aunts and uncles, Francis Shifflet (Carol) of West Jefferson, OH, Jack Atha (Shirley) of Tempe, AZ and Janet Thomas (Bill) of Marion.
