She was predeceased by : her parents, Earl Snyder and Irene Snyder; her brother Richard "Dick" Snyder; her husband Charles H. Shaffer; and her brother Robert Snyder.

She is survived by : her former life partner Tom Galehouse; her children, Rick Shaffer (Liz) and Lisa Shaffer; her close friend Nevin Boley; her grandchildren, Erin Clark (Stewart) and Charlie Shaffer (Erica); and her great grandchildren, Adria and Harper Shaffer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Michael's United Church of Christ in her memory.
