He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Brunk and Norma Brunk (Boone); his wife Carol; and his son Brian. He is survived by: his sons, Garry L. Brunk Jr (Molly) and Darren Brunk (Amy); his siblings, Jack Brunk (Bobbi) and Betty Evans; and his grandchildren, Corey Brunk, Danielle Brunk, Brianna Brunk Ben Conley, Sam Conley Berlyn Howell, Maci Jenkins, Carol Ann Brunk and Brian Brunk. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
