He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Nelson and Audrey Nelson (Richardson); his siblings, Floyd Richardson, John Nelson and Christine; and his brother-in-law Anthony Olinger.

He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Maynard and Verna Highmiller; and his nephew Anthony Wayne Olinger.
