He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester Bethel and Hazel Bethel (Ridenour); his sisters, Arlene Ferryman (Wayne), Helen Dhume (Don) and Linda Burnish; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Callicoat and John Shaffer.

He is survived by : his wife Betty Jane Bethel (Fornof); his children, Catherine Conway (Mike), Cynthia Ansted (Tod), Karen Hartman (Jeff), Sharon Stonerock (Bryan), Terri Davlin (Joe) and Jim Bethel (Debbie); his sisters, Carole Shaffer, Joyce Whipp (Jim) and Pam Bethel; his brothers-in-law, Jim Burnish and Paul Fornof (Joan); his grandchildren, Becky Conway, Chelsea Conway (Wendy) of Elizabeth Conway, JD, David Bethel (Abby), Thomas Bethel (Olivia), Kimberly Hartman, Jennifer Hartman, Abbey Stonerock (Logan Ebert), Sarah Stonerock, Nathan Hout (Rachel), Ella Davlin and Sam Davlin; his great grandchildren, Josie, John and Eli; and his friend Jane Beathard. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
