She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Giesting and Rita Giesting; and her brother Edward. She is survived by: her husband John Knechtly; her children, Brian E. Knechtly (Cara) and Erin L. Amlin (Andrew); her grandchildren, Henry Amlin, Lucy Amlin, Eleanor Amlin, Graham Knechtly and Colin Knechtly; her brother Jerome Giesting; and her sister-in-law Mae Smith. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
