He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert Nichols and Locie Nichols (McCune); his daughter Martha "Tootie Nichols" Malcuit; and his siblings, Claude, Bob Nichols, Martha Nichols, Jane Short and Maxine Steele.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Nichols (Conley); his daughter Tammy Cottrell (Cliff); his grandsons, Hobert D. Nichols, Clifton "Cliffy" Cottrell, Cody Cottrell and Caleb Cottrell (Chyenne); his great grandchildren, William, Randall Nichols, Chloe, Serenity, Adalyn and Emery Cottrell; his sisters, Marylou Reed and Christine Longfellow; and his close friends, George, Kenny, Larry, Donnie, Chuck and Tracey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
