She was predeceased by : her parents, William Barrett and Bertha Barrett of Langsville, Ohio.; her husband Carl Nelson; her son Larry Nelson; and her siblings, Wesley, Bob, Bruce Barrett and Helen Metheney.

She is survived by : her children, Cheryl Smith (Greg Brown) of Mason, WV, Brenda Johnson (Brian) of Mason, WV, Roger Nelson (Lydia) of Niceville, FL, Carroll Ray (Deanna) of Charleston, SC and John Nelson (Tammy) of Middleport, OH. She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
