He is survived by: his parent Martha Lawson (Peters); his wife Annette Lawson (Stamper); his children, Peggy Ann McKinney (Don) and James Lawson Jr. (Renee); his siblings, Pauline Stacy and Prentis "Jitter" Lawson; and his grandchildren, Chris McKinney, Tyler Lawson and Connor Lawson.
