He was predeceased by: his former wife Genevieve Peyton; and his son Keith Austin Peyton. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sorrell Peyton; his daughter Rena Morgan (Todd); his stepchildren, Tim Sorrell and Beth Landrum (Bob); his grandchildren, Brittany Hall Jr. (William Ray), Ashley Macal, Marina Peyton, Rocky Peyton, Savannah Peyton, Abby Morgan, Rocky Staton (Chelsea) and Brad Sorrell (Kayla); his great grandchildren, Michael Holbrook, Mason, Emalyn Sorrell, Owen and Spencer Staton; and his brother James Vernon Peyton (Pat).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Yankee Road First Church of God Building Fund.
