He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Varner and Myrtle Varner; and his brothers, Paul, Gene and Rodney.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian (Newman); and his children, Rick Varner (Melanie) of West Chester, OH, Patty Pope (Danny) of West Union, OH and Jeff Varner (Lori) of Galena, OH. He is also survived by five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 - OR - Grace Baptist Church, 3023 Union Rd., Franklin, OH 45005.
