He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Oakley and Lillian Oakley (Tapp). He is survived by: his children, Tony Oakley (Pat), Gaye Copas (Chris) and David Oakley (Theo); and his siblings, Zelma Hatcher (Lee), Betty Hampton (Sterling) and Gene Oakley (Linda). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
