He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas "Tom" Bates (Missy) and Rita Bates; his daughters, Kayla Bates and Laya Bates; and his grandmothers, Alice Campbell and Gladys Bates-Kirby. He was also cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
