She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Smith and Mary Smith; her former husband Leroy Lewis; her sons, Donald and John Lewis; her stepson Marshall Ward; and her siblings, Hazel, Tilda, Eva, Carlos, Joe and Bill.
She is survived by: her husband Harry Ward; her children, Ronnie Lewis (Kathy), Connie Lindon, Bonnie Mays, Mary Abner (Scott), Melissa "Boo" Lewis and Shannon Abner; and her stepchildren, John Ward (Jeannie), Curt Ward (Becky), Clint Ward (Barb) and Donna Ward. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
