She was predeceased by : her husband Jim Steele. She is survived by : her children, Susan, Dave Steele (Cindy Arnette) and Susie; her grandchildren, Missi Shaner (Matt), Joe Stutzman (Nicole), Jamie Swartzentruber (Travis) and Dallas Steele (Sam Klepacz); her great grandchildren, Zak Shaner and Swartzentruber; and her pets, Petey, African Grey Parrot and Gertie.
