He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gartrell and Donna Gartrell (Morckel); his siblings, Diane Wirkner (Robert) of Carrollton and Darrell Gartrell (Nancy) of Florida; and his grandchildren, Emily Gartrell, Nicholas Gartrell, Zach Sattler and Esmeralda Arellano (Jemere).
He is survived by: his wife Paula Gartrell (Wagoner); and his sons, Neal Gartrell (Maggie) of Knoxville, TN and Keith Gartrell.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Community Church or The American Cancer Society.
