She was predeceased by: her parents, Maximilian Hertel and Maria Hertel; her husband Elbert S. McGilton; her granddaughter Amanda Jane Schoppelrei; and also Alice Fulton.
She is survived by: her sister Hanni Manus; her daughters, Christina McGilton and Catherine Schoppelrei; her son-in-law Eric Schoppelrei; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samuel, Emily and Andrew Schoppelrei. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Child Fund, an organization dear to Maxi's heart or even consider sponsoring a child in Maxi's stead.
