He was predeceased by : his parents, Leroy Thomas and Pauline Thomas (Gustwiller); his wife Lois A. Franz; his grandson Matthew Keeterle; and his brothers, John Thomas and Leroy Thomas, Jr..

He is survived by : his children, James C. Thomas (Marilyn), Sandra S. Keeterle (Daniel) and Mark A. Thomas (Lisa); and his sister Marilyn Stouffer. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
