She was predeceased by : her parents, James Truman and Betty June Simpson; and her siblings, Raymond Upshaw, Gary Truman and Jackie Gadison.
She is survived by : her children, Leslie "Teri" Martin of Raleigh and Jeffrey "Jeff" Martin of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Sierra Richards, James Barnett, Oddessa Martin, Denise Elizabeth Martin, O'Rhen Martin and Scottlynd Martin; her great grandchildren, Nautica Richards, Marquis Barnhart, Jr., Ariana Richards, Ocean Martin, Akira Martin, Sofia Barnett, Auna Eulinberg and Jervaunn Gaskins; her close friend Sherry Hughes; and her half-siblings, Levi Upshaw, Tina Truman-Holloway, Canisha Johnson and Rosa Upshaw. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
