He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph, Sr. Higginbotham and Kathleen Higginbotham (Deans); his wife Mary Ann (Walker); his granddaughter Bethany Joy Higginbotham; and his siblings, George and Mazie (Mintern).
He is survived by: his children, Marie McDaniel (Lilburn) of Columbus, Joseph, III Higginbotham (Sheryl) of Columbus and James; his sister-in-law Betty Petty of Yorba Linda, CA; and his grandchildren, Erin Higginbotham Nealy (Darren), Regenia, Ray and Randy McDaniel. He is also survived by 8 greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to Central Christian Church, the YMCA, Red Cross, Honor Flight or other charities of their choosing.
