He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl K. Thompson and Dorothy Thompson Coon (Nethers); his stepfather Cary A. Coon; and his daughter Stardis K. Hullhorst. He is survived by: his wife Darla Thompson (Fluharty); his children, Windy Murphy (Pat) and Rob Thompson (Chanda Ward); his sister Sue Himes (Joe); his sister-in-law Fran Tolliver; his grandchildren, Rich Thompson, Brandon Thompson (Scarlette), Jennifer Lee (Chris), Kayleigh, Kariann Thompson, Bradley Hullhorst (Jennifer), Nicholas Hullhorst (Allison), A. J. Murphy (Jesse Lemay) and Landon Murphy (Sydney Johnson); and his close friend Sassy. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
