He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas J. Mills and Edna B. Clupper Mills; his former life partner Rosemary; his children, William, John and Patricia; and his grandson Christopher.

He is survived by : his children, Mary Mills, Bobbie Fowler, Nancy Long, Susan West and Thomas Mills. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
