She was predeceased by: her mother Edith Stewart Hester; her son Joseph Jerome; her grandson My'Kel; and her grandmother Carrie Brooks. She is survived by: her husband Joe Owens; her children, Michael, Cara, Danny, Charlisse and Brenna; her father Ulis Hester; and her brother Mark. She is also survived by grandchildren, and 2 godchildren.
