It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bess Kaplan (Pepper Pike, Ohio), who passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Bess had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Bess may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Belle Horwitz and Philip Horwitz. She is survived by: her husband Richard Kaplan; her children, Roberta "Robbie" and Peter; her daughter-in-law Rachel; her grandson Jacob; and her brother Benjamin Horwitz.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the The Park Synagogue (27500 Shaker Blvd, Pepper Pike, OH 44124). A burial will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at the Bet Olam Cemetery (25796 Chagrin Blvd, Beachwood, OH 44122). A shiva will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
