He was predeceased by: his mother Raquel Mendieta (Lopez); his brother Christopher Mendieta; and his nephew Donald Sekulski, Jr.. He is survived by: his father Antonio Mendieta; his sons, Matthew and Michael Mendieta; and his siblings, Stella Sekulski, Sr. (Donald), Tony Mendieta (Tina), Rebecca Ramirez (Alfredo), Monica Mendieta, Melinda Mendieta, Patty Ray (Robert) and Jessica Mendieta.
