He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Tipton and Myrtle Duffy Tipton; his former life partner Mary Thornton; and his siblings, Daisy, Geneva, Myrtle, Peggy, Geraldine, Jim and Donald.

He is survived by : his wife Rita Slevin; his daughter Susan Stinson (Larry); his siblings, John Tipton (Blanch) of Bradenton, FL, Betty Moorman and Virginia Pulley; his grandchildren, Chris Palmer (Tiffany) and Morgan Grewell (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Ava Liegh and Jameson.
