She was predeceased by : her father William Spence. She is survived by : her mother Rose Newman Spence of Navaree; her husband Walter Johnson; her son Walter Richard Johnson III of Portsmouth; her stepson Jerome Knight of Portsmouth; her daughter Beth Ann Johnson of Lucasville; and her siblings, Claude Newman (Jamie) of Portsmouth, Raeleen Brown (Ray) of Lima and Kathy Bassel (Timmy) of Ironton. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
