She was predeceased by: her parents, Rayford Owens and Carrie Owens (Abram); her husband Dennis Monson Jr.; her children, Benjamin Wayne Owens and Gwendolyn Carter; her stepson Frederick Monson; and her siblings, Laura Bright McNeal, Cathy Miller, Ruby Smith, Lonnie Owens, Barbara Logan, Mozell Trotter and Jason Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Justice, Raymond Priester of Ravenna, Bernard Smith (Michelle) of Arizona and Stephanie Thomas of Akron; her stepchildren, Olivia Taylor, Marilyn Nash (Samuel), Dennis Monson (Veronica) of Ravenna, Michael Monson (Donna) and Sandra Davis (John) of Akron; her brothers, Rayford Owens of Akron and Jessie Ray Peters of Varnado, LA; her sister-in-law Tina Owens of Akron; her daughters, Marilyn Maxwell, Angela Logan, Janice Wade and Dorothea Molden; and her friend Helen Smith. She is also survived by 43 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 37 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
