She was predeceased by: her parents, William Carver and Estella Carver (Jeffress); her husband Frank E. Pettigrew Sr.; her son Jimmy L. Pettigrew; her siblings, Donald, Billy, Merle, Raymond Carver, Marjorie Carver and JoAnn Stumphf; and her sons-in-law, Robert Montgomery and David Cueni.

She is survived by: her brother Willard Carver (Nadine); her sister-in-law Eleanor Carver; and her children, Ruthanne Montgomery, Diane Cueni, Frank Pettigrew Jr. (Amy), David Pettigrew (Sharon), Lonnie Pettigrew (Linda), Mark Pettigrew (Laurie), Timmy Pettigrew (Sandy) and Matthew Pettigrew (Melody). She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Darlene volunteered as a member of the Edinburg Embers Auxiliary, and memorial donations may be sent in her name to the Edinburg Fire Department or the Edinburg United Church.
