He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew McKamey and Carrie McKamey (Duncan); his wife Connie; and his sisters, Geneva Evans and Imogene Marney.

He is survived by: his children, Gwena "Deann" Morris (John), James McKamey Jr. (Rocky), Teena McKamey (Crystal), Teresa Thompson (Eddie), Tracy McKamey (Art) and Mandi Winning (Rob). He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations can be made to University Home Hospice.
