He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jr and Mildred Hilgert Jr. (Kline); and his sister Dorothy Garman. He is survived by: his wife Betty Hilgert (Moore); his child Cindy Wallis (Jeff); and his siblings, Robert Hilgert (Gladys), Dolores Heldreth, Kathy Adelman (Bill), Mary Ann Hilgert, Martha Hilgert, Bernice May and Connie Cole (Tim). He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Center of Hope in Ravenna.
