She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles H. Thomas and Alta J. Thomas (Hollister); her husband Joseph Smith; and her son Wayne "Buddy" Smith. She is survived by: her daughter Sherill Ann Buitrago (Lou); her grandchildren, Sonya Hardy (Sean), Shawnel Herbst (Mike), Joseph Smith (Nicole), Serena Rhoton (Jason), Sarah Thompson (Chris), Olie Buitrago (Gayle) and Barbara Dalsis (Norm); and her daughter-in-law Nancy Lawson. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the National Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
