He was predeceased by: his parents, Everret Cross and Lois Cross (Hess). He is survived by: his wife Esther (Kiracofe); and his brother Verlin Cross (Edwina) of Ashland. He is also survived by 2 nieces, his nephew, and several cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Reed Memorial Library in Nolan's name.
