He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce A. Slone (Tackett); his sons, Gary and Gregory; his grandson Gary; his great grandchild Kamielya; his grandparents, Benjamin and Phoebe Jane Slone; his parents, Hiram Short and Ida Slone; and his brother Frank.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Manns (Doug), Deborah Reyneke and Larry (Debbie); his close friends, Wilma, Bob, Doris, Tony and Von; and also, Creig (Cathy), Kim, Tammy (Bill) and Michael (Oksana). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren;17 great great grandchildren; and numerous step grand and great grandchildren.
