He was predeceased by : his parents, Rochus Wendel and Mildred Wendel (Beyke); his siblings, Robert "Bob" Wendel and Mary Bruns; his brothers-in-law, Robert Wynk and Dave Kuck; and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Mary Catherine Quinter.
He is survived by : his wife Karen Wendel (Quinter); his children, Chuck, Heather Wendel of Cassella, Dennis, Melissa Wendel of St. Henry and Greg Wendel of Wendelin; his grandchildren, Kendra, Amber, Alan, Emily, Claire, Molly, Renee and Tyler; his siblings, Delores (Andy Schlarman), William (Marie Wendel), Rita Wynk of Carthagena, Rosann (Clete Prenger), Kathleen Wendel of Wendelin, Don Wendel of Wendelin, Janet Kuck of Chickasaw, Dave (Eileen Wendel), Marjorie (Nick Meier) and Ernest (Marilyn Wendel); his siblings-in-law, Dan Bruns of Chickasaw and Marilyn Wendel (Quinter) of Fort Recovery; and his parents-in-law, Les and Pat Quinter of Coldwater. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 a private Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, May 15, 2020 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, with Fr. Jim Smith as celebrant.
