He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alfred A. Herzberger and Mabel Lenore Herzberger (Armstrong); his wife Anita Tempia Herzberger (Williams); his children, Terry Herzberger (Stephanie) of St. Simons Island, Kurt Herzberger (Andrea) of Masury, Ohio and Tina Horne (Jeffrey) of Hartville, Ohio; his sister Gayle Schubert of Loveland; his niece Debbie Jackson (Bob); his brother-in-law Larry Williams (Blanche) of Steubenville; Rev. Forrest Nees and Minister. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vergil's favorite charity, The Salvation Army, Service Unit in Sebring, Ohio.
