He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Shonk and Elizabeth Blunt Shonk; and his siblings, Evelyn Neill, Howard, Dwaine and Robert Shonk.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Reed; his daughters, Holly Jo George (Jim) of Sherrodsville, Carol Ann Wardell (Don) of Newcomerstown and Kathy Jane Grimm (Mark) of Bergholz; his sister Pauline Cutshall; his sister-in-law Helen Shonk; and his cousins, Robert Shonk and Bertha Shull. He is also survived by his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren.
Because of the surge in the coronavirus pandemic, private family services will be held.
