He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon E. Thomas and Bessie Smith Thomas; and his siblings, Vernon "Chubby" Thomas and Betty Wright. He is survived by: his wife Duddie J. "Dee" Thomas; his children, Teena Thomas of South Point, OH and Jerry Crow of Winchester Ky; his granddaughters, Haley, Tyron Cox of Flatwoods, KY, Mary and Ryan Matney of South Point, OH; his great grandchildren, Kiana, Jada Bruton, Jake Arthur, Aiden and Cohen Matney; and his great great grandchild Kalyn Sietz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
